Greetings!

–Hi! Welcome! Usually, when I find a new blog, I like to get a little bit of background information about the writer. If you are the same way, here you go:

–I live in the southeast part of the United States. I am a woman. I am married. I have a little girl known here as Baby.

–I used to work in corporate America doing research and translations. I’ve also been a social worker. I have a largely-useless graduate degree in linguistics. Now I teach English as a Second Language extremely part-time.

–I struggled with infertility for 2.5 years before conceiving Baby. My ovaries are stupid (thanks PCOS!) but at least they got it together to make Baby. Then my breasts had issues making enough milk. For various reasons, I exclusively pumped my milk for 8.5 months. There is a lot in the archives about pumping and improving one’s milk supply (starting here).

–I’m moving to Sweden with Husband and Baby; Husband is from there. We have been saying we will move there “in 2-3 years” for the last five years, though, so who knows when/if that will happen?

–I call my child Baby though she is no longer a baby. We actually call her “Baby [name]” in real life. Baby is wonderful in every way. She was born in August of 2006.

I’d love to hear from you.

Hey! I am here via a comment you left on Kristin’s blog. I just wanted to agree that you do have the cutest baby! The post about your husband calling his family during Christmas dinner sort of made my heart ache, as that is the same way I feel when my husband talks to any of his family in AZ, NV or FL. They aren’t around the world, but they are far enough away to make seeing them very often pretty hard. Every time I’m reminded how much he sacrificed for us to be together…

so i quit bitching about the socks on the floor.

    Love your blog :-)
    Chris
