The results are in

7 February 2009

And they are positive. Astoundingly.

(Do you realize it took me two and a half years to get pregnant before?)

And if we are still working on getting ourselves in a totally positive place about it, I’m confident we’ll get there. Uh, kinda confident.

Holy cow! That’s shocking! One try and you’re in? Congratulations! I’m sure you’ll be happy eventually. . . when the shock wears off. I just hope this pregnancy is a lot better than the last.

    BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Hyperventilating on your behalf. Damn fertility gods. If they don’t fuck with you one way, they fuck with you another way.

Congratulations! And …. bwaaahhhh! And…my condolences to your horse?

  3. Melissa Says:

OMG!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!! Congratulations! That’s incredible. I’m excited for you even if you’re not quite there yet yourself.

You may not be feeling it but CONGRATULATIONS!. I somehow knew it would happen when you didn’t feel ready. The stars will align and things will work out in the end.

Wow – so those urban legends about infertiles who spontaneously (or perhaps it’s more accurate to say easily and quickly) get pregnant are true! Good luck working it all out – I’m sure there are lots of big changes in store for all of you. But I’m an eternal optimist about these things and can’t help believe that it will all end happily for everyone (except maybe for the horse?). All the best to you on this new journey.

  6. Betty M Says:

WOW! Very exciting – even if it isn’t quite what you were intending. It will work out.

Yes! Talk about parallel lives (ish), congrats you.

    Denial is great, huh :)

As far as I know, I still am, so you never know :)

    Yeah, you!

    So, yeah, now what?

  9. DD Says:

Oh, I meant by “now what”, do you schedule betas and ultrasounds with an RE or an OB?

I felt I should elaborate since I sounded rather flip.

First order of business is to get my GP to prescribe me Metformin for the next year…they want you to take it the first three months, but not after that, but since I had milk supply problems, my LC said I should have taken the Met the whole time, so I need to secure access to it. I’ll call the OB next week to see if I need to take baby aspirin again, and see what they say about visits. Last time I had an u/s at 6 weeks cause of a lot of bleeding (they thought m/c, but then found LG, so unknown cause, possible loss of twin). I don’t know how they do things normally. I rarely find out.

Second order of business: Secure a large arsenal of morning sickness remedies including SEA BANDS and lots of sucky candy (lemondrops and peppermints were my fave.) Do it NOW and stockpile as many remedies as you can find because the worst thing is to procrastinate and not have all of the options on hand when you want/need them!

  19. you will get there… and when you do.. you will wonder how you ever questioned it :)
