Low and…

1 April 2008

Hey there. I haven’t been posting because Something is Going On (no, not pregnant) and I don’t know quite what to say about it as yet but it’s got me down.

• Husband is on the other coast for work this week. He keeps telling me about the fancy suite they have him in. I keep feigning interest.
• I’ve been eating like crap because I feel like crap which makes me want to eat crap.
• Working on a paper. You know, I wanted to take this class because traditionally there are no papers, just a project. And lo and behold the new professor has us write three papers and take a midterm, and each paper requires an awful lot of work. The one I am working on even involves math. Blech.
• Baby is very tired these days. I have to wake her in the morning and after naps. But she’s going to sleep easily, so I am fine with it. Weird, though.
• The stupid insane weather is messing up the grass we are trying to grow. Floods, cold snaps. I mean, really. Spring?
• I totally forgot to write a thoughtful post a while back about how now Baby has been breastfed half her life and not breastfed the other half. I just don’t get too worked up on that topic anymore, I guess. But since that was basically the main subject of this blog for many months, I guess I should mention it.
• My mom wants a dog. She wants something she can put in her purse. Huh. Since when does my mom want to be like Paris Hilton?
• Today was the second time in a week Baby went pants-free at the playground. Last time the capris, a gift, were too fitted to let her move freely, and today her pants got soaked five minutes into our trip by a puddle at the bottom of the slide. Children were asking their mommies, “Why doesn’t that baby have any pants?” It wasn’t cold or anything, though. And she had fun.
• When people think Baby is a boy (today someone told me she has a “boy face”; I think they were just confused by her red shirt and, um, pantslessness) they like to comment on her physical prowess and daring, both of which are extensive. When they think she is a girl, they talk about her curls and grin and height. People.
• Baby injured herself today right before bedtime when practicing jumping. I don’t think her foot is broken but it may be sprained (or it just may be a stubbed toe or something she is being dramatic about). After a lot of dithering and cross-country discussions with Husband, I made the decision to let her sleep on it and see what’s going on in the morning. I guess we’ll just have to see about that. Sucks. Worrisome. Argh.
