Baby turned four months old yesterday and compulsive as I am I made sure her four-month visit was precisely then; we wouldn’t want being even one day off to make a difference on plotting her growth chart, after all. She was less weighty than expected but we can’t make her eat more and the doctor said she’s fine. Thsi whole business of the baby’s eating has long been quite tricky but I am learning to let it go. You just can’t make babies do things. This is evidently also true for husbands.
Husband was present for most of the doctor’s visit but had to leave for a meeting right before the nurse came in. Why does it always take two hours to visit the pediatrician? Why isn’t corporate America more understanding of the needs of families? I guess money is the answer to both.
Baby suffered through her vaccinations and was over it in minutes. I swear she gets more upset over farts.
She’s been on Tylenol since for her fever which spiked at 101.1 F this morning but was 99.8 last night. Husband and I were, in earnest new parent style, both working hard at taking her bottom’s temperature. I commented that at 99.8 degrees her bottom was hot enough to boil water. Husband informed me that I was thinking of Celsius which I not only forgot how to spell but apparently forgot existed altogether. I’m so glad I spent 45k a year on college and don’t know the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
